An open event for young cubers who just want to turn and twist cubes โ one Saturday, five events, twelve stations to show what they've got.
Deccan Cubing is a premier, non-profit community organization founded in 2017 that is dedicated to cultivating speedcubing across Hyderabad and South India. Operating as the regional cornerstone for the speedcubing community, the organization bridges passion and professional mind sports, using the traditional household puzzle to foster cognitive development, concentration, and spatial awareness among youth. In strategic alliance with the World Cube Association (WCA) and the Indian Cube Federation, Deccan Cubing hosts official, globally recognized tournaments such as the DC Hyderabad Open, alongside training camps and community meets. These high-footfall events draw hundreds of participants and thousands of spectators, creating valuable touchpoints for sponsors to connect with tech-minded young adults, students, and parents.
The organization was pioneered by world-renowned speedcuber Pavan Kumar Akula, who held a World No. 1 ranking in the 3x3 blindfolded category in 2013 and holds multiple Guinness, Asian, and Limca world records. Driven by his vision to democratize puzzle solving and nurture future intellectual champions, Pavan leads the community alongside his brother Sai Kumar. Together known as the 'Mosaic Brothers', their combined experience as elite competitors and WCA delegate leadership ensures that every Deccan Cubing event adheres to strict world-class organizational standards.
